Security screens built for Eight Mile Plains homes
Miza Home Security is based right here in Eight Mile Plains, and we know the suburb better than most — from the older brick homes backing onto Bulimba Creek to the newer townhouses springing up toward the Rochedale border. As a Prowler Proof Certified Dealer, we supply and install the full range of security screens and doors, fitted specifically for the way local homes are built and the way local families actually use them.
For over 20 years we've installed security screens across Eight Mile Plains, South Brisbane and Logan — so whether you're near the busway, tucked behind Warrigal Square, or out toward the Technology Park, we've likely already worked on a home just like yours.
Why Eight Mile Plains homeowners choose Miza
20 years of local experience
We've fitted screens on everything from heritage-style homes near Hughesville on Logan Road to modern townhouses in the newer estates, so we know what works for this suburb's mix of housing stock.
Products suited to our climate
Eight Mile Plains sits in a humid subtropical belt, hard on window frames and cheap flyscreens alike. Our Prowler Proof range is built to handle that, without the corrosion and sagging that ages ordinary screens fast.
One point of contact
I'll personally handle your free in-home consultation, measure, installation and after-sales support — no call centre, no handoffs.
Is your Eight Mile Plains home an easy target?
Queensland Police have flagged a recurring pattern in local break-ins — flyscreens removed, doors left unlocked, offenders striking day and night. We break down what QLD Police are actually recommending for the area, and where a proper security screen closes the gap a flyscreen can’t. Read the full article →
Security screens and doors for every part of Eight Mile Plains
SECURITY SCREENS AND SECURITY DOORS
Whether you’re in an established home along the South East Freeway corridor or a newer build near Rochedale, we fit the full Prowler Proof range — from the premium ForceField, to the sturdy Protec, through to the more economical Diamond range.
Non-security screen options for local lifestyles
Not every home here needs a full security solution. Families near the Bulimba Creek parklands often want good airflow and insect protection without compromising the view — that’s where our Insect screens come in. For homes with young kids or elderly residents, especially in the two-storey builds common around the newer estates, our Guardian fall-prevention range adds peace of mind on upper-level windows. And for the suburb’s older Queenslander-style homes, the Heritage range keeps the traditional look intact.
HINGE WINDOW SECUIRTY SCREENS
For homes near the Eight Mile Plains busway and Warrigal Square, where quick access in and out matters, the Prowler Proof hinge window security screen gives you a proper emergency escape point, easier cleaning access, and the option to fully open up living areas — without dropping security.
REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
A lot of Eight Mile Plains homes have had screens fitted for years — rollers wear out, mesh stretches, and flyscreens need a remesh. If your existing screens aren’t performing the way they should, we service and repair them so they’re back to doing their job properly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Standard flyscreens are built to keep insects out, not intruders — they can be popped out of their frame with very little force. Queensland Police have flagged this as a common entry method in break-ins across Eight Mile Plains. A certified security screen, tested to Australian Standard AS 5039, replaces that weak point with a barrier designed to resist prying, cutting and impact, while still letting you open the window for airflow.
Eight Mile Plains sits in a humid subtropical zone, which is tough on cheap screens and frames over time — expect corrosion, sagging or warping within a few years with lower-quality products. Prowler Proof screens are built to handle that, and we back every installation with a 10-year full replacement warranty on the product, plus a 1-year Miza Home Security installation warranty.
Yes. Eight Mile Plains has a real mix of housing, from older Queenslander-style homes near Hughesville on Logan Road to newer townhouses toward Rochedale. For heritage-style properties, our Prowler Proof Heritage range keeps the traditional look and can be pair with products like ForceField or Protec for security — and for everything else, we fit our full range to suit the home rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
